It's good to have you back in GWB. I'm hoping for some good reviews from you in the future, bro. And why don't you make a review of Alan wake(for GWB)?

Yesterday, I saw on xbox live., That you almost completed the game with max. possible achievements. Which means you did finish the game properly & undoubtedly you can make a decent review of it.

I'm also preparing myself for an in-depth review of Tom clancy's Splinter Cell : Conviction which is out for a while now in the stores & also made a great score from the critics.

I hope to come up with it in the next month when Gamers world bd will relaunch. Till then, Stay well & happy gaming !

I am surprised to find such an amazing discussion on piracy in this outdated article. Great stuff guys, PC gaming wont die ever that's for sure. Piracy control in bangladesh rests on Government too so that could go either way. The videogame market is huge and in fact grossed more than the film industry in the great economic recession.

Putting a stop to software/media/videogame piracy in Bangladesh could have serious ramifications/consequences for the economy. This topic as interesting as it is, has economic properties to it. Taxing, quota and licensing.

I personally wouldn't mind if Bangladesh went LEGIT maybe within the next 10 years. EVERYTHING Original. Yes many shops will have to close down, crores of resources will have to diverted. But whoever wants to get free games (i will surely do that) can head onto a torrent site and get everything they can. There is always that choice, thats what people in the US does as well as in the UK.

The reason for my opinion has to reasons: 1 being govt can earn some money from all the licensing and tax. 2 being BANGLADESH WILL BE ILLEGIBLE FOR:

Worldwide releases like the Sept. 14 release of Reach or movies like Avatar.

we will get them when the rest of the world gets it. Banning piracy in stores will be another step towards a developed country.

There could be 1 big disadvantage to this possible move: A LOT OF PEOPLE will not be able to afford games like they used to or the fast internet needed to download games. Well to that i will say nowhere in this world gaming is cheap, its an expensive hobby. Might as well deal with now than later

ps. good to see all of you still posting and having fun

Whoa, Man ! A very long post indeed...

Okay, You made your point & I understood what you're actually trying to say...

But still don't you think that, They (Developers) wouldn't make these drms if we didn't bring that situation here by using those pirated softwares instead of using their original products?

They have to stop piracy if they wanna continue their bussinesses, Otherwise they might also end up like "Grin"...

And creating those drms was just another step to stop & prevent piracy from destroying all their creative hard work...
But unfortunately they just failed for once again in this war between the developers & the sceners(And those sceners just won once again!)...
And better not to mention, They also made some legit users very angry  by taking this kind of step, As this wasn't expected from the developers at all...

"Swedish developer grin was shut down not only because of piracy but they paved the way of their fate by their own hands. Just look at their games… most of the games are mediocre to abysmal in critic ratings"

Yeah, You are right, all of those recently released games by this developer were flopped, Both critically & commercially...

But I wasn't pointing that out, All I was trying to say was about the financial loss the company had in the last year...
That serious financial loss just made the company to close even though their creditors weren't even responsible for this !

Although, Grin wasn't an "outstanding" developer, Nor any of their game has ever got a 10/10...
But Grin wasn't that "bad" also, And you'll get it if you look in the the company's game developing history...

Anyway, Getting back to the point, We still don't know, That the developers will ever succeed or not in this war against piracy ...
However, There is also a chance that one day the developers may succeed. But for now, That's just a dream for those game developers out there. Isn't it?

you proved your point but we were optimistic about the future where developers take a u-turn to be one with the gamers and still there is a possibility.Anyway, there are two alternative paths for the devs to move on lets see which path the developers cross but its the future right lets see how it turns out.Anyway good luck & happy gaming .

@Rabbi & Sng425

What i really wanted to see is that i'm wrong in this matter if not totally. And i am truely glad and will be very happy to see IF the future favors your opinions...

"I am looking forward to that greeny future where we will play the games with dignity and pride as well as helping the developers in the process. We will feel cleansed after all these years that time"

"We will not just only feel cleansed, moreover we will be a part of those things that we were missing out!"

But no, the way things are forwarding these days, the road to the bright future grows narrower.

"Bro, What I’m trying to say is, If we don’t support the developers then who the hell............So, We should try our best to support the developers instead of supporting those sceners, Hackers & pirates......."

See the respect for developers you have in you? I had it too a year ago...unbelievable i guess...but after the announcement of some immoral drms, my trust in developers was changing rapidly. I personally had a conversation with The GameWiz regarding the subject in this link-

I bought a legit assassin's creed copy and loved it. After the sequel's announcement, i had a dream of having the game's black edition copy. That never happened...my dream faded not only because of the drm, but also because of how legit and SUPPORTING customers like me were treated by the developer.

"Thats the point i was trying to prove. Thanks bro you made my comments worthwhile. I am looking forward to that greeny future where we will play the games with dignity and pride as well as helping the developers in the process. We will feel cleansed after all these years that time."

Proving points leading greeny future are ideal and are more than just welcome, helping the developers who entertain us in the process, but do you think that they even CARE for their supporters now like they did before? If so, then good luck with your opinions.

If you are thinking otherwise, then you'll have even more to think about. For splinter cell conviction, my pains were even bitter. I loved the series upto chaos theory and after the distaste of the fouth chapter aka double agent i was looking forward for the next sequel to see if my once-favourite developer ubisoft would make the fifth chapter worth and therefore preordered it just like i did with most of the series's sequels around 3rd quarter of 2007. That was a hell of an anticipation and perhaps my worst and soon to be the only last game i preordered in my life.

First, some lengthy sessions of delay, then comes the need of 24/7 internet EVEN FOR SINGLE PLAYER MODE! Yes, i've internet but it's nowhere near that minimum required speed nor constantly stable. Why i loved chaos theory even after controversial protection it got because it meant no direct harm to customers, who were helping developers to extend their studios. But among the legit owners, who would've thought that the developers were abusing the supports in developing infamous drms instead of optimizing the games to run better on pc like ac2 or sc:c and would be treated worst like pirates.....

"Such as playing online multiplayer, Getting full support from the developers for using their original products, Being a legitimate gamer, getting full freedom from using those 3rd party softwares & cracks to play the game etc."

Swedish developer grin was shut down not only because of piracy but they paved the way of their fate by their own hands. Just look at their games... most of the games are mediocre to abysmal in critic ratings. One interesting thing you people may notice is that about graw1 which is a multiple award winning title, but most of those were achieved with xbox360 version by Red Storm Entertainment as opposed to grin's less {but not fully} entertaining pc version.

"After all, Financial succession also matters in this fact, bro.
If they can’t afford to pay their creditors, The company itself will never exist"

My Bro Sng425, i would've agreed completely with you if it was a year back...An eye for an eye makes the world blind. But in some similar scenerios, this may come as more than just an option. Piracy is a vague concept and this concept is being used [or abused to be precise]
pretty much like a smokescreen by well known industries. It may be hard to believe a statement which came out of nowhere, so here is a link [http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/18665/1/] and will be glad if it helps you to believe a bit.

"And What the hell can those sceners do if they can’t even find any game to crack?
The developers out there does all the hard work to make a game and if they stop developing games then there won’t be even any single game left to crack."

Developers have some tendency to spam hoaxes concerning piracy all over the net, claiming piracy is making their markets dead. People sort of believed and still believe that statement... and it's normal because of the superior propaganda the developers take advantages from the cunning method. Now the question is then how the sceners crack games if piracy is already killing the pc game indusrty?

Piracy IS an issue. But its nowhere to bankrupt up-and-running companies. Developers should have abandoned pc platform long ago if the piracy rates they claim were completely real. Modern warfare 2 for example, definitely is the most pirated game last year. Notice that how can we tell that the numbers on the papers are 99% percent if it was unbiasedly taken in account that some users bought a legit copy but cracked it to avoid unnecessary hassles.....? We may never now, but take ME for an example.

Since this site is NOT only limited to comments, opinions but also includes depth analysis with recent trends, it is better for us to go in depth. Your optimism in future about equity in aspects from both the developer and the supporting gamer where developers lowering the price and gamers preferring legit method ditching technical hassles without the need to apply critical cracks feel just like in HEAVEN! YES!! HEAVEN!!! Saw the launching price on assassin's creed 2? It was supposed to be lower with such unforgiving drms, instead ubisoft simply increased the value by $10. And ubisoft, like most of the other developers need not to be worrying much about "piracy" as it doesn't hurt them much, if it did, then they will simply jump only on consoles like bad company 1 which proved EA wrong in some manner no matter how they pretend in public with other excuses. All they want is simply to increase the price and want mass-gross-revenue profits.

You may find me insane, but personally, I simply will not be counting some rooms for such developers as they are simply making their clients to loose trust in them and proving themselves worthy of a betrayer. Its better to see such industries ( but not all of them b.t.w.) to collapse and fall hard that don't even know how to behave with legit buyers.

Long story short----- supporting developer "{commercial}friends" who don't give a damn to people who made them to reach their status sky-high today is anything but........ okay, i'll leave that for individuals' own invalued and suggeting views and opinions.

@Sng425

Yeah man it's been a very long time since you posted a decent review  . Hope GameWiz returns soon with plethora of high-octane news ;-) . Anticipating this site to get back in action!

And ofcourse to all, have a nice day in gaming!

People sort of believed and still believe that statement… and it’s normal because of the superior propaganda the developers take advantages from the cunning method.

Notice that how can we tell that the numbers on the papers are 99% percent if it was unbiasedly taken in account that some users bought a legit copy but cracked it to avoid unnecessary hassles…..? We may never now, but take ME for an example.

Since this site is NOT only limited to comments, opinions but also includes depth analysis with recent trends, it is better for us to go in depth. Your optimism in future about equity in aspects from both the developer and the supporting gamer where developers lowering the price and gamers preferring legit method ditching technical hassles without the need to apply critical cracks feel just like in HEAVEN! YES!! HEAVEN!!! Saw the launching price on assassin’s creed 2? It was supposed to be lower with such unforgiving drms, instead ubisoft simply increased the value by $10. And ubisoft, like most of the other developers need not to be worrying much about “piracy” as it doesn’t hurt them much, if it did, then they will simply jump only on consoles like bad company 1 which proved EA wrong in some manner no matter how they pretend in public with other excuses. All they want is simply to increase the price and want mass-gross-revenue profits.

You may find me insane, but personally, I simply will not be counting some rooms for such developers as they are simply making their clients to loose trust in them and proving themselves worthy of a betrayer. Its better to see such industries ( but not all of them b.t.w.) to collapse and fall hard that don’t even know how to behave with legit buyers.

Long story short—– supporting developer “{commercial}friends” who don’t give a damn to people who made them to reach their status sky-high today is anything but…….. okay, i’ll leave that for individuals’ own invalued and suggeting views and opinions.

@Sng425

Yeah man it’s been a very long time since you posted a decent review . "Hope you will submit ur Splinter Cell: Conviction in-depth review soon!It will be a really good favor before the Gaming Wiz himself comes back with tons of new stuff."

I can't do that, bro. Only the administrator has access to this blog.
And without the help of Gaming Wiz, It's almost impossible for me to post any review...
Since he is the only one who can post any article in this blog.

So, I can't post the review unless the site relaunches....

We were trying to say the same old thing, bro !
And guess what, we've already shown our point !

"I am looking forward to that greeny future where we will play the games with dignity and pride as well as helping the developers in the process. We will feel cleansed after all these years that time."

We will not just only feel cleansed, moreover we will be a part of those things that we were missing out !

Such as playing online multiplayer, Getting full support from the developers for using their original products, Being a legitimate gamer, getting full freedom from using those 3rd party softwares & cracks to play the game etc.

"*not all games multiplayer modes are cracked by these scene groups!"

You're absolutely right,bro !
I wonder how many pirated games gets to see a multiplayer crack for itself?

"perhaps we might not even knew whether developers like activision ,ea, ubisoft were ever existed!"

Bro, What I'm trying to say is, If we don't support the developers then who the hell is gonna do that?
After all, Developers put all their invaluable time & hard work on making a game, And If we don't support them & buy the original copy of the game, Then one day they might give up, Cus none of this company will exist if they can't make profit on what they're doing.

And as you may know, Few days ago, A swedish video game developer "Grin" (The developer behind Wanted: Weapons of fate, Terminator Salvation, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (PC), Bionic Commando etc.) officially closed their video game production due to bankruptcy, After having a series of financial loss in their developed games.

After all, Financial succession also matters in this fact, bro.
If they can't afford to pay their creditors, The company itself will never exist.

And What the hell can those sceners do if they can't even find any game to crack?
The developers out there does all the hard work to make a game and if they stop developing games then there won't be even any single game left to crack.

So, We should try our best to support the developers instead of supporting those sceners, Hackers & pirates.
But that won't be possible for us Bangladeshis, Unless those original games will be available in cheaper prices.
Cus, It is almost impossible for a third world country like Bangladesh to buy those expensive stuff unless they are available in cheaper price.

And that's what I was trying to say,bro !

i agree.UBI SOFT drm is done and dusted.I think that they are going to tweak the drm but it will still be taken out by SKIDROW the leading force as they are experienced in this field of work now.Anyway,I was also angry with the so called unbreakable drm from ubi but we finally had our day and UBI is pissed at the moment. The main reason we dont buy legit games as they are costly but if this scenario changes these developers may succeed. They need to open up their mind or things will never change.I am downloading my copy of splinter cell: conviction i dont think i am gonna play it anytime soon as my exams are knocking at the door. After my exams i will try it out.Anyway have a blast  with Splinter Cell:Conviction!

Hmm...let us hope and pray that one day developers could understand the ancient but yet most effctive formula of more sales by lowering the price which ea did with bad company 2 recently... Forgot this proceedure long ago in a flash of a second with frustrations and grew cynical when ubisoft stabbed us in the heart with its new drm. Thanks for reminding bro  ! Atleast got myself a crooked way  for playing my legit copy of splinter cell conviction that i got last day without spending on 1MB connection per month. Yeah man hope you are enjoying it too, the game is FTW!

i meant i wasnt going for a long debate but not quitting it.Its all are just views and i know that all my views wont be a fact. Both of us have views from different ends as every person's views varies.Like if the multiplayer gets cracked all the time like singleplayer for a pc game then who will want to buy a genuine game.Cuz most of the people who are buying genuine games are for the multiplayer facilities. But if the genuine game gets cheap then everyone will buy it cuz we are helping the developers in the process and enjoying a legit stuff. But you said they will do a low quality product if the price is low.I exactly think the opposite as if the price is cheap more people will buy it and more sales will be in return even though they are getting less profit per piece more sales will back it off may even be getting more profit than it is now by this process. But its the future btw......lets see what happens.Anyway have a good time playing Splinter Cell:Conviction .
