Hardcore Kinect Games Coming In 2011, Says Microsoft

Kinect has launched and the reviews are surprisingly good. However there’s a dearth (or lack) of hardcore games. That’s soon to change.

UK Microsoft marketing chief Stephen MCGill has said in an interview that we can expect hardcore Kinect games to appear in 2011:

“We have announced things, at the Tokyo Game Show, a whole raft of titles aimed specifically at that core gamer. We’ll see more of those in 2011.”

He believes that Kinect is complementary to controllers:

“Obviously we still love controllers, so this is complementary to the controller, you’ll still see Xbox has the best line up of controller-based games for gamers this Christmas. That is going to continue throughout the next few years.”

  1. maybe they are referring to gears of war 3 or this was the reason gears of war 3 was delayed 😎 Move has some hardcore games like resident evil 5 if they dont come up with the hardcore games in kinect then it was doomed anyway nice tactic Micro$oft 😈

  2. Well, Kinect is different from move. You still have a wand for move, but kinect totally depends on your own imitative movements captured by the camera…so it’s natural that they are taking more time before coming up with hardcore titles.
