PS3 Can Now Use “Custom” Firmware

Following the release of the PS3 master key which allows you to run unsigned homebrew code, now you can run “custom” firmware on your PS3.

Code-junkie KaKaRoTo has released tools to make your very own custom PS3 firmware.

If the first thing that comes to your mind is “running pirated games”, hold on right there. According to his blog, the firmware won’t “allow piracy.”

“the custom firmware is really meant for future homebrew installation.”
