Speaking with ScrawlFX, Krakowiak said upon release it will more than likely be a co-op demo.

“We are thinking about it, so you can safely say you can expect it, then,” he said.

Co-op in the game doesn’t stick to the more traditional form of two to four person play, instead, co-op consists of three players, due to that being the number of main characters in the story.

“Why always 2 or 4? We had this idea for this story for three characters, and since the story is so important, we decided ‘yeah, we can do a co-op for three, why not?’,” said Krakowiak. “There is no good reason to keep it at four or two. It just works for the story that we’re telling.

“We could’ve done four or two; we are doing the co-op multiplayer for our other game, Dead Island, so that’s proof that we could do it, we just wanted something different here in Call of Juarez.”

Krakowiak goes on to say that local co-op would not have worked for the game, and while he cannot reveal why at this point, there are “good reasons for it.”

“There are gameplay features that actually wouldn’t make much sense in local co-op,” he said.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel is set to be released sometime in this summer for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Apparently, it seems like CD Projekt’s highly anticipated RPG title won’t force you to upgrade your PC into a high-end gaming rig. Instead, as a matter of fact the specifications are reasonable enough to run the game on a mid-range rig.
