Assassin’s Creed | Not Quite Ready For Prime Time?

Assassin’s’ Creed is set to release on November 14th, which is less than a month away from now. You might think that the developers are putting in the finishing touches – but that’s not really the case. The console versions of Assassin’s’ Creed is facing problem – both on the 360 and the PS3.

The problem with the Xbox 360 version is that of limited space on a 8GB DVD – it’s just not enough. While the game is having issues with the way the PS3’s hardware handles memory. Here’s Patrice Desilets, the creative director of Assassin’s Creed with more info:

Both have their own challenges. Right now we have a big challenge on the 360 to make it fit on a DVD, to put five languages, to put all the data on eight gigs. On the Blu-ray side we’re really good, but then the memory is quite different. How we handle memory is really different between the two machines and we’re struggling right now on the PS3. But we have people who are really dedicated and we’re having help from Microsoft on one side and Sony on the other side to have the same quality on both systems. It really depends on the week basically as to who’s best.

WHAT’S MORE:

Ubisoft is to delay four games until next year, possibly including heavyweights Haze, Rayman Raving Rabbids and Assassin’s Creed, the French publisher has announced.

In a financial report put out by Ubisoft, the company announced that, “As a result of the positive trends observed during the first half of the year as well as the positive outlook for the third quarter, Ubisoft has decided to postpone the release of certain games”. Well said. Still, 360 could have HD-DVD player built in. Even if there are no HD-DVD movies and it lost the format war, but that would saved us gamers some headaches. Still, there’s the Xbox 720 😉
