Worry Not : Microsoft Will Support Windows XP Till 2014

People who were worrying that Microsoft will drop support for Windows XP later this year can rest easy. Microsoft has announced today that it will continue to support Windows XP till the year 2014. That means, you can expect that Microsoft will release security fixes, patches and upgrades for XP in the future. It seems that Microsoft has finally made a wise decision, earlier they were threatening to stop supporting Windows XP. Although they won’t continue selling XP up to 2014, but users who purchase Vista can downgrade to XP at no extra cost, if they desire.

Windows XP Lives On

Microsoft has finally learned that you can’t force users to upgrade to a shabby piece of software. Although I have upgraded to Vista Ultimate in late 2007, but I notice relative performance drop in game frame rates. Gamers should wait for another year before switching to Vista.

  1. Don’t worry guys till then Microsoft will definitely play their dirty games on launching at least 2 more operating systems within. Just modified versions of the previous OS’s and will be named differently. That’s it. Just like Vista and 7 and a little concepts taken from XP. Geniuses.

Microsoft is already in talks about Windows 8. They can release as often as they want, just make sure that the prices are reasonable. Plus, its a boon for us Bangladeshis cause everyone runs a pirated version anyway.

Hey man, I always respect ppl who buy genuine, even though the cost is way too much. Btw, did you get it at launch day? I remember pre-ordering at Amazon US. But then the Amazon UK price was cheaper by around $50-100! Got it from there and had it shipped via courier. A few days later Amazon UK raised the price to the US one, so I got lucky

Thats some luck 😀 I got it from Ryans Computer for 9000BDT on March and its Windows 7 Home Premium  Whats ur one Ultimate or Home Premium?

  7. @Rabbi

Whoa bro, that was a steal! Yes, mine too is the Home Premium but I paid around $300 incl. shipping. How come Ryans priced it much lower? Was it in the original box or did you buy it later on?

  8. @TheGamingWiz

Yeah 😀 it was the original retail box with both 64 and 32 bit disc inside.I bought it couple of months after launch on March this year and the region is asian. They are selling Ultimate on ryans for 14k’s  The disc was factory sealed when i bought it 😀
