Confirmed: Xbox Live Offers Free Online Play For A Limited Time
Rumors of Xbox Live silver members playing online has been confirmed by a Microsoft spokesperson. For a limited time only, all Games For Windows Live titles released on the Xbox 360 can be played for free over Xbox Live. For the complete list of Games For Windows Titles, click here.
It won’t be permanent though, and the promotion will end when the new Xbox experience launches this fall. What do I say? Well, looks like someone messed up the code seriously enabling these cross-platform titles to be played over Xbox live for free (when Microsoft announced Games For Windows Live will be free for all). In other words, keep on gaming until someone at Microsoft fixes the problem. Makes you wish Halo 3 was released on Games For Windows, doesn’t it?

I think its more a glitch too, plus its only Games for Windows -LIVE cross-platform play titles (i.e. Shadowrun, but not Gears of War).
