New Crysis 2 Details Emerge

In the February 2010 issue of PC Gamer, Crytek has revealed the first details of Crysis 2. It will be set inside a jungle again, however Crytek insists it’s a “new style of jungle”. Nathan Camarillo, executive producer of Crysis 2 has said “we are applying our expertise to a new style of “jungle” which we will discuss more in the upcoming months, but it is definitely far from tropical. We are very excited to introduce Crysis-style sandbox gameplay to a different, yet ultimately familiar environment.”.

The AI is being revamped and will take better advantage of their surroundings. In case you’re wondering whether it will be a system hog as before, don’t worry. Crysis is heading to consoles this time around so the system requirements won’t be ridiculously high. It won’t be “dumbed down” either, as Camarillo explains “in some ways it has allowed us to avoid overdesigning features, to keep the focus narrower and tight for a compelling experience on all platforms.”

Obviously Crysis 2 will be based on the CryEngine 3, which was officially revealed on March 11, 2009. Among other things, check out the Nanosuit 2.0 trailer below:

Crysis 2 is set to release in the latter half of 2010.
