Ubisoft: New Assasins Creed In 2010-2011, Multiplayer Mode Expected

Assasin’s Creed 2 was a huge success, selling over 6 million copies worldwide. Ubisoft has said today in an investor’s press release, that “a new episode of Assassin’s Creed” is expected in fiscal year 2010-2011, “which will be the first in the series to have an online multiplayer mode.”

Could it be Assassins’ Creed 3? Possibly, considering the success of Assassin’s Creed 2. Ubisoft also said that line-up will be more focused on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. So, if a new Assasin’s Creed is released, expect it sometime in 2011 or early 2012 on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Don’t worry, nothing is certain yet at the moment. Ubisoft releases games on the PC, but after the release on consoles.

I wonder how exactly they will implement the multiplayer mode? Co-op perhaps. We’ll have to wait and see.
