Dante’s Inferno Hands-On Demo Impression

In Dante’s Inferno you travel to the nine circles of hell trying to redeem yourself and recover your lost love Beatrice.

The early stages of the demo is set in Florence, Italy and is really polished. From the first moment I picked up the controller, it was evident as to how much time Visceral Games had put into it.

Combat is really fast paced and good fun, although it was a tad easy and often delved into mindless button mashing There are only two stages of difficulty available in the demo, with more harder difficulty settings promised in the full game. What sets this game apart from the likes of God of War is its setting – you either get to punish enemies or absolve them of their sins.

Give 'em Hell

There are two paths of progression available, holy (you earn holy experience by absolving enemies) and unholy (by punishing enemies). It is possible to mix match these two but most gamers will find that one clear path will provide the best rewards.

What blew up the demo was a battle with Grim Reaper of Death itself, and watching Dante defeat him and take the Scythe. That was a treat as death himself begged for mercy. Boss battles follow the way of God of War with button mashing at the precise moment to finish off the enemy.

Dante's Inferno Battle With Death

This is definitely intended for a mature audience, there is no shortage of blood, torture and naked women. The graphics is top-notch and there was no framerate hiccups on the Xbox 360 version (which I played) even with a dozen of enemies on screen at once.

From the demo it seems Dante’s Inferno has a variety of settings – you have to fight through nine circles of hell to be exact. However, it is a bit too similar to God of War. Let’s hope the finished game can break out of the hype.

Hopes
(+) Unique setting in hell, based on the Divine Comedy
(+) Highly polished

Fears
(-) Too akin to God of War

Check out the gameplay video below. Dante’s Inferno releases on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PSP on February 9 2010. Go to Hell.

Nice hands-on Impression, bro ! may be i will get it on the xbox 360 & psp ! But it looks very similar to God of War Series !

  2. @The Gaming Wiz/Mushfiqur Rahman

hey bro.thnx 4 accepting me as a friend on Xbox Live !
anyway,i heard u have a ps3,well did u signed up for PSN(Playstation Network)? Can u tell me how does it work?i heard the online gaming is free on PSN(online gaming is not free on xbox live).is it true?
the biggest problem on xbox live is,if u r using a modded xbox 360 u will get banned from xbox live.but since the ps3 uses original games to play,i won’t have any (ban) problem.i also heard ps3 has an built-in Internet Browser like PSP.but the 360 doesn’t have any internet browser or something like that & since the ps3 also has a BD-ROM,so it can play Blu-ray Discs. So i’m really thinking of getting a ps3…

anyway,it will be great if u fill me some information on how PSN works…

  3. okay, sng here is my points of view before gaming wiz tells from ‘m.

I also have a 40 GB PS 3, and have PSN ID.

“i also heard ps3 has an built-in Internet Browser like PSP”
-It does have, but PS3’s inbuilt lan is somehow a bit slower then either my PC or my X3. And it’s not comfy browsing the net using the gamepad, you should get a compatible keyboard.

“since the ps3 also has a BD-ROM,so it can play Blu-ray Discs”

Bluray discs are still not that avilable, some peep claimed they’ve seen ’em in Gulshan or Banani, in a shop or tow, but they have to be ordered by you first. And, 2ndly the original Bluray movies or games cost 4000/5000k (Bangladesh). So, it is pretty much outrageous cost.

The game Quantum Theory was givin me a headache cause I was really in frustration about having 3 PS 3 games in a closer time (February- April), but thanks Almighty they declared Quantum Theory for X3 too. πŸ˜›

If you’re thinking of gettin PS 3 get it for the AMAZING PS 3 Exclusive games from 2007’s Uncharted 2 to today’s Heavy rain, or Gawd of War III, cuz I do not spend such amount for multiplatform games cuz I get ’em for my X3 or even for PC at (a free of charge if downloaded from net) a cheap rate.

The thing that I am yet to test is playing online, will test it later, cuz I am not that interested in playing online, rumor saysSony is thinking about charging for playing games online on PS 3. Lots of servers at free you know while Micorsoft earned 103 million last year from XBL. πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

  4. @Reza

thnx for the info, bro.but actually i was trying to know about online gaming in ps3…

  5. @sng425

Cheers bro, I would have added you sooner but didn’t connect 360 to the internet after switching to Wimax.

Yes PSN is free but Sony plans on having a pricing policy but online gameplay is still free.

Connecting to PSN is really easy. Don’t know about the wireless bit, but ehternet works fine. Similar to 360, select automatic internet settings. You can check this youtube instruction @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJYMksJXczA

I haven’t played online with the PS3 yet. Reason is Zipbd ties your internet connection to your PC’s MAC address. The Xbox 360’s mac address can be changed but it’s not possible to do so on the PS3. However, Qubee doesn’t have this limitation.

  6. nice….!! though i keep seein bad reviews bout it on other websites… i still wanna play it…. i guess prolly cuz its the closest thing to GOW dat i can get on my 360…. well im not gonna get it until i buy n LCD for my room…:S (cant hav all the naked women flashing on the TV in my living room)….

  7. @Pagla07

    Lol, be careful bro πŸ˜‰

Actually the demo represents the first levels of the game. If you read any reviews, they will tell you the same thing – the first bit is really interesting. It only goes downhill only in the last 1/3.

That said, I will get Dante’s Inferno. It’s really good.

  8. hey i just wanna know….is qubee good for online gaming…..cos i really wanna play modern warfare 2 on my ps3 here…..also anotherthing which package are u usin the 512 or the 1 mbps…pls let me know

  9. @justQrious

I’m using the 1 Mbps Qubee WImax package and it’s really good. But even with a fast internet, I don’t recommend playing FPS games due to high pings.

What people fail to understand is this, high speeds don’t really mean better ping. I play on Europe servers (Team Fortress 2) with pings around 200-300ms. If you play on overseas servers (even from the US) you’ll get high ping.

Most players have pings around 20-100ms and they manage to shoot me even before I poke around a corner (due to the lag present on my side). 😐 πŸ‘Ώ 😑

  10. Nice hands on article! The game is a lot like GOW but gore and graphic content is off the charts! Girls barely have their clothes on and babies carry knifes to stab you to death! The game’s now available in dhaka, give it a shot.

Btw would like to add some new friends on live:

    what are your gamertags?

    Mine’s: ii Shafquat ii

  11. @TheSituation

    My gamerstag is : ChromaticSNG425

u can add me on xbox live, but it’s almost two months i’ve not been able to sign in on xbox live due to some ISP issue….

  12. hey yeah dont worry i will subscribe….i luv this site….anyway i got the 512 kbps package but i need to get a wireless router can u recommend 1 for me cos my old 1 is kinda shitty the speed varies when i plug it in…..anyway pls let me know…

  13. @justQrious

Don’t have a good idea about wireless routers in BD. Try D-Link or LinkSys – they’re really good. There is also a good Chinese brand called TPLink (I use a TPLink 8 port wired switch).

  14. @sng425:

yeah ok i will just add you either way, you will get it whenever you get online. Guys if you really wanna play and win on live, get a full duplex connection or a near full duplex connection. Getting quebee 1mbps wont matter shit, if your upload is below 32 heck 32 doesnt even cut it in gears and halo. You need a near 60kb/s upload ping matters just like Mushfiqur said but this is something which is totally dependent on servers you play on.

Considering you have a UK gamertag you should be alright, Fifa is the best actually. It requires the least bandwidth and halo or mw 2 is the most hungry.

btw full duplexes can be really expensive, try local isps with a high upload rate.

  15. i Can play mw2 on my ps3 without any lag but there are sum other games which lags way too much like uncharted 2….but im still happy with service theyr givin…..i use the wimax 512 sky by the way……

  16. @TheSituation

Well said bro, I’ve given up competitive FPS gaming due to lag. I mostly play co-op which is bloody fun nowadays. And with a 1 Mbps, voice chat is crystal clear so planning ahead in-game and discussing strategies is fun.

    @JustQrious

“i Can play mw2 on my ps3 without any lag” – bro which servers do you play on and what ISP do you use?

  17. @sng425

Hey bro, haven’t your ISP fixed the Xbox Live problem yet?

  18. @mushfiq:

Hey man if you are active on xbox live, hit me up sometime! Although i don’t have gold subscription on my mammoth gamertag but i made a new tag just to get subscriptions. GTAG: iPull RT FTK

another information for all the 360 players out here: YOU can make unlimited profiles on your 360, BUT YOU CAN ONLY HAVE 3 XBOX LIVE ENABLED PROFILES which also MEANS YOU GET 3(THREE) MONTHS OF FREE GOLD MEMBERSHIP PER CONSOLE!!

So remember, if you ran out of 1 month free gold, make a new tag and you get another month free! 3 free month subscription per console. Has to be on separate profiles cant have 3 months on one profile :S (too bad)

  19. @The Gaming Wiz/Mushfiqur Rahman

    Sadly,the answer is “No” πŸ™

I told them to open the port.but they said,i’m using a dedicated 512 kbps Bandwidth,& since i’m only paying them for the 256 kbps connection,so they are blocking & limiting my connection to 256 kbps through a router,if they open the port there will be some problems & i won’t get the appropriate speed.

but one thing i didn’t understand, what “speed limitation” has to do with opening the port? πŸ˜•
They provide good download speed though…

looks like i have to change my ISP,again.i hope wimax comes to ctg soon…

btw…you mentioned that you are using qubee right now,how good is their service? Can you sign in to xbox live using qubee?

  20. @TheSituation

hey bro,i think thats not a good idea.cus,u will need to create 3 separete profiles to get 3 months free gold subscription.
& thats just a painful process, since u can’t transfer ur current gamerscores & achievements to a new profile.

& u previously stated that”Gaming should be painless rather than painful”
    Don’t you?

  21. @sng425:

hahaha you are right. But to clarify your statement “since u can’t transfer ur current gamerscores & achievements to a new profile”

    I CAN! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

I do this all the time, you can transfer saves, achievements across profiles but just need to know how to πŸ˜›

If i can you guys are just a tutorial away! hehe

  22. @TheSituation

“you can transfer saves, achievements across profiles”

but how? πŸ˜• as far as i know, there is no way to transfer achievements & gamerscores across profiles.

how did u do that? πŸ˜•

  23. The Gaming Wiz/Mushfiqur Rahman

Im using the qubee 512 sky rite now……i dont have any idea about the servers though….but i played with my cuzins the otherday…and they said there was a bit of lagging on their side…but still i could talk to them…..tht was preety cool…..anyway why dont u create a psn account real quik its preety simple and best of all its freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee http://www.gamersworldbd.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

  24. lol

  25. Well it’s a very very long procedure and a technical one.

But i will just tell you the only thing you need to buy THE XBOX 360 HDD TRANSFER CABLE. And then you can work the rest of your way

  26. @TheSituation

    where can i get it,bro?
    & how does it work?

  27. @TheSituation and Sng425

The Xbox 360 HDD transfer cable only lets you transfer your profile/game saves/DLC from one HDD to another. It does not let you transfer achievement points between different Xbox Live accounts. πŸ˜›

I know for a fact because I own a third party Xbox 360 HDD cable. It’s really technical – first the beta software didn’t work. Then my PC wouldn’t recognize the 120 GB HDD (it detected the 20 GB HDD fine). After completing everything, some files from the 120 GB HDD were missing. And Xbox Live update wouldn’t update properly on the 120 GB. Frankly I was in a big mess since I made no backup. After a couple of tweaking with the hexadecimal value in the Xbox Live dat file, everything worked fine. My console could update and I wasn’t banned from Xbox Live.

Case in point, third party 360 HDD transfer cables can be a real pain. The only way Microsoft will provide you a HDD cable is if you upgrade to an Elite (you have to fax them a form with two of your console’s serial number) and they only ship within the US. And even then you CAN’T transfer achievement scores between accounts.

  28. @The Gaming Wiz/Mushfiqur Rahman

“And even then you CAN’T transfer achievement scores between accounts.”

I also know that it isn’t possible to transfer gamerscores & achievements from one to another profile….but i was surprised when Thesituation told me it’s possible !

thnx to the gaming wiz for clearing up my confusion !

  29. @the gaming wiz/mushfiqur rahman and sng425

oh so you do have a hdd transfer cable? Hashblock calculator and Modio to solve any of your xbox live profile troubles. It works with 120gbs and 250s i create backups of my profile every 2 weeks incase i get banned or my hdd dies for any stupid reason. (3 years!! i have had this hdd)

Teliing this again i won’t be able to EXPLAIN exactly how to transfer achievements from one profile to another. But yes it can be done!

Look for it in forums it’s called SPG-ing. Second Profile Glitch, helps you transfer achievements from one master profile to a secondary. It helps you get achievements you unlock(or have already unlocked) as a saved game in your master profile to a secondary profile.

eg. I SPGed my gears 1 achievements from my source ii Shafquat ii to my secondary iPull RT FTK, transfered the achievements first and then using the hdd cable/in my case xport transfered the save game to my secondary πŸ˜†

I also did this last week with MCLA, to get the R8 from my master profile.

It’s natural if this doesn’t make sense to you guys, but it is possible. I have been in the modding scene for a very small time but know quite a lot, stuff shops can’t do and people (in bd) don’t know how to do πŸ˜›

Just to show i am not kidding here is a link:

    http://gamecheats.xploder.net/xbox-360-second-profile-glitch/1153-second-player-glitch-tutorial-new-nxe-method.html

do some research if you really want to do this, you will be able to.

  30. @TheSituation

Hey bro, thanks for pointing that out. It seems it might be possible but I’m not willing to take the risk. But interesting to know that you can still do it.

  31. @TheSituation

    wow ! that was really helpful,bro ! πŸ™‚

but still i don’t wanna do this just to get 1 month free gold subscription on xbox live.
it will just expire in 30 days,u know.

but anyway, thanks for sharing it to us ! 😎

  32. @mushfiq and sng425

your welcome guys, i was afraid i won’t be able to convey the message properly through comments πŸ™‚

and yes 30 days will pass like that *snap* when it comes to live subscription.
