Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Sells “More Than Double” Of Original

EA announced at their latest earnings call that DICE’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has now sold “almost 6 million units,” which easily beats the original.

They’re chuffed it enjoys a metascore of 89 and that it’s become a new “stand-alone franchise” for EA to feast on. A Vietnam expansion is due out.

“On the spring, we released Battlefield: Bad Company 2, with a Metacritic index of 89,” said EA COO John Schappert. “Today, Bad Company 2 is sold through almost 6 million units, more than double the sales of the original.”

“Congratulations to the team at our DICE Studio in Stockholm for turning Battlefield: Bad Company into a new stand-alone franchise for EA.” Most recently DICE developed Medal of Honor’s multiplayer component, where EA LA handled the singleplayer.
