Crysis 2 As Big As Call Of Duty? “Why Not?”

Crytek has loft lofty ambitions for Crysis 2, including taking on the juggernaut that is Call of Duty.

Eurogamer asked executive producer Nathan Camarillo if the upcoming Crysis 2 could match Call of Duty. He replied: “We say why not? We always do. Obviously with Crysis 2 we have to set a high quality bar and get everyone’s attention across all platforms. That’s our goal with the title.”

Also speaking to Gamasutra, Crytek’s UK Managing Director Karl Hilton was rather confident about Crysis 2: “In multiplayer you see the numbers that they [Activision] achieve and continue to achieve in terms of sales and ongoing players. We’d like to exceed what they achieve.”

All will be revealed when the game launches in March 2011 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

  1. Yeah Why Not? 😛

  2. Crysis is a really good game and in terms of graphics its still untouchable the best but shouldnt they be thinking about 5 million shipments rather than dreaming about 20-25million shipments 😛 They are forgetting something call of duty is the biggest gaming franchise in the history of 7 long generation of gaming. Its possible to be commercially successful but its impossible to be call of duty cuz call of duty is a benchmark not just successful 😀

  3. @Rabbi, exactly as I said on FB page of Gamersworldbd:

“I’m really excited about Crysis 2 but you have to remember the extreme amounts of hype surrounding COD, especially Black Ops. No wonder it sold over 7 million copies on its first day, whereas some games sell that much (if ever) over their lifetime. In my opinion, Crysis 2 won’t sell that much”

  4. whatever cod is cod … Nothing can be compared with it… But waiting for crysis to be released … Lets see 😀
