Microsoft Erasing Halo Wars Stat Tracking And Leaderborads

Microsoft is going to hit the death switch on Halo War’s official website. They are going to remove the gaming stats tracking and leaderboards as of December 15.

The site announcement said “There will be a fifth Title Update for Halo Wars. Unfortunately, it won’t include many of the fixes that we all wanted it to include”.

The new update will prepare the game for the disconnection of the website and cutscene issues. And the dev said “This was a fairly significant amount of work, as we wanted to be sure that multiplayer for the game still functioned properly without HaloWars.com and other backend support”. They also told “The forums will disappear and so will online stat-tracking.”

The website later said that “In an effort to provide the Halo Wars community a lively, active, and well-moderated set of forums for discussion, we are soon going to be transitioning the Halo Wars forums to Halo Waypoint’s forums.”

The update will take place on 15th December

Halo Wars sold one million copies in less than a month on sale, which made it the “best selling real-time strategy game on any current generation console”.
