Microsoft Strikes Back With AP 2.5, Hackers Respond With LT+

The latest Kinect Dashboard update has AP 2.5 (Anti-Piracy 2.5) which prevents booting newer games which have the AP 2.5 checks.

This stopped hackers dead in their tracks, as many users who play *ahem* “backup” games were greeted with a nasty surprise: they couldn’t play latest games such as Fable 3, AC: Brotherhood and NFS: Hot Pursuit. The game showed up fine in Xbox Dashboard, but they were unloadable due to a “Disc Unreadable Error”.

Seemed like Microsoft had effectively controlled piracy until hackers responded with LT+, which promises to bypass the AP 2.5 checks.
