NFS Shift 2 Won’t Have “Bland” Gran Turismo And Forza Graphics

NFS Shift 2: Unleashed producer Marcus Nilsson has said that this game won’t have the “bland” of Forza or Gran Turismo.

Speaking in an interview with Official Xbox Magazine, he said that although NFS Shift 2 won’t match Forza’s 60 FPS performance, but the upside is that it will have more detailed graphics.

He believes that Forza and Gran Turismo developers sacrificed better graphics for a smooth 60 FPS experience.

“You have to make a choice with today’s tech. Either you go for – and this is harsh but it’s what I think – the bland graphics of GT and Forza, or you try to push the bar for what consoles can do,” said Nilsson.

“That’s what Slightly Mad is doing, and hence the decision was made to aim for 30 frames,” he added.

NFS: Shift 2 is scheduled for a 2011 release date on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The charm of these new race sims is that you can set all driver assists to ON and it plays much like an arcade racer.
