Prepare For Cataclysm, Patch Now Live

Although World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion pack is yet to be released on December 7 2010, but the patch 4.0.3a is now live which prepares the Warcraft World for Cataclysm.

The patch will introduce a complete redesign of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor areas, completely revamping vanilla WoW areas such as the Barrens and Orgrimmar.

WoW lead systems designer Greg Street talks about the new cinematic:

“The first thing players will see when logging on after the patch will be Deathwing’s cinematic arrival,” explained Street. Events in-game have been building to this moment for weeks, and the movie will usher in a new era for Azeroth. “Deathwing has arrived, ravaging Azeroth. The world has completely changed. Hopefully we’ll have moved everyone to a safe location.”

The full release of Cataclysm will raise the level cap from 80 to 85, introduce the Worgen and Goblin as playable races and add a number of new dungeons.
