Splinter Cell 6 Already In Development

Jade Raymond of Ubisoft Toronto has confirmed that Splinter Cell 6 is already in development.

“We’re working on Splinter Cell 6, the next iteration of the blockbuster franchise, and we’re doing it entirely here in Toronto.”

The confirmation comes from a video on Eurogamer.

In the new video Raymond reveals 83 people have been hired. Gameplay production is “going on already”. There are concept artists, animators and audio directors hard at work as we speak.

No console or release date has yet been announced.

We’ve also said previously that a HD remake of Splinter Cell is already in the works.

  1. Will the HD remake come earlier then SC6?

Neither games have a release date yet so nothing concrete.

I really have high hopes for Splinter Cell 6, I hope they don’t water it down.

Is it just me or did Conviction actually feel watered down? It turned into a stealth action game instead of being simply a stealth game. I miss the old days of reloading saves after each death and memorizing guard route patterns and hiding for minutes in the shadows. Guess the HD remake will take care of that itch.

I can bet it wasn’t only you as Conviction’s stealth was actually stripped down in comparison to it’s predecessors. I still remember the lighthouse level from Chaos Theory where I spent hours in the shadows to finish the level with 100% stealth…
