Mass Effect 2 On PS3 Uses Mass Effect 3 Engine

BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 producer, Jesse Houston, has revealed on their official podcast that Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 will actually use the Mass Effect 3 engine.

Here’s what he actually said:

“We’ve actually created the engine for Mass Effect 3 and use that to make Mass Effect 2 PS3. So we took the content and the story and all the other assets that made up Mass Effect 2 and we put them in the Mass Effect 3 engine. And that‘s what we are actually delivering.”

PS3 gamers will get a Mass Effect 2 demo on Dec 22.

Mass Effect 2 for PS3 will release on January 18 2011.
