Guerrilla: Killzone 3 Move Support Is ‘By Choice’

The decision to include PlayStation Move and stereoscopic 3D support in Killzone 3 was Guerrilla Games’s own, the developer has insisted.

Speaking to the Edge magazine, MD Hermen Hulst explained that Guerrilla is simply keen to adopt new technology and experience with new features, “It’s something that’s very much core to the group of people we have here. A lot of the people are, as you’ve probably noticed, very tech-oriented and savvy, and we like to experiment with new hardware and new hardware features,” he said.

“Of course, we’re aware that we sold the company and are now part of a broader family, but this is by choice. We’re always the first studio to say, ‘Cool – can we try something out?’

“I don’t want to be too scared with picking up new things, because it’s innovation, it’s healthy. If you’re working on a series, you’re looking for new things to do, and it’s fantastic work. The guys who get asked to work on 3D… or the gun peripheral, for instance, that’s something we designed here, for all of Sony’s studios.”
