Sony: “We Will Fix Hacks Through Network Updates”

Must be a bad day for Sony. A group of hackers revealed the PS3’s master key which gives people complete access over the system. A custom PS3 firmware has already been released.

All hope may not be lost as Sony claims they will fix the “security issues” via “network updates” that they are planning to release.

Speaking to Edge, Sony said:

“We are aware of this, and are currently looking into it. We will fix the issues through network updates, but because this is a security issue, we are not able to provide you with any more details.”

However, that may not be entirely possible. Hackers have told the BBC: “The complete console is compromised – there is no way back. The only way to fix this is to issue new hardware. Sony will have to accept this.”
