Final Fantasy XIII Took Only 2 Years To Make

Well this is surprising. 5617 (Chinese website, Google Translate link) has reported that Final Fantasy XIII spent only 2 years in development time.

If it’s true (the translate is a bit iffy), FF XIII was originally meant to be released on the PS2 but was later shifted to the PS3. It’s been four years since the last FF game, so you’d expect Square Enix put that time to good use. But no, the entire design process and game engine development took about 2 years. That also includes the Xbox 360 version as well, which took 1 year at best.

Final Fantasy XIII is slated for release on PS3 & Xbox 360 March 2010.
