Microsoft: Halo: Reach Will Be Biggest Game of 2010, “Across All Platforms”

Excited about Halo: Reach? So are we. Halo: Reach is a prequel to the Halo trilogy and is the last game to be developed by Bungie.

Microsoft is so confident about Halo: Reach that they believe it will be the best selling game of 2010. Not only on the Xbox 360, but will beat sales of games released across the other two consoles.

Director of Xbox marketing Stephen McGill said:

“It’s an exciting time for Halo fans and we’re thrilled by the response from trailer shown at the VGAs last month which was phenomenal.

“Our hope for Halo: Reach is to be the biggest title of 2010 not only for Xbox, but across all platforms – a forecast which has been mirrored by industry professionals.

“Halo: Reach takes the legacy of Halo’s rich multiplayer gameplay to an entirely new level, delivering experiences that we think old and new players alike will enjoy for years to come.

“The Halo franchise is an entertainment phenomenon comprised of best-selling novels, collectibles, industry acclaimed anime and genre-defining games that have already sold more than 30 million units worldwide.”

One of the defining features of the Halo franchise has always been its impressive arsenal of weapons, from the iconic energy sword to the devastating rocket launcher. I’m curious to see if Halo: Reach will introduce any new weapons to the mix, perhaps even a Mini Katana for players to wield. Given the game’s focus on melee combat, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility. And as a game and anime lover who wouldn’t love that?

It’s always exciting to see how game developers innovate and expand upon existing gameplay mechanics, and I do not doubt that Bungie will deliver in this regard. With the promise of a rich multiplayer experience and a captivating prequel story, it’s no wonder that Halo: Reach has generated so much buzz and anticipation among gamers.

It is also one of Gamersworldbd’s top games of 2010. Industry gurus are also convinced, including GameTrailer’s GTTV host Geoff Keighley, who said:

“You will get a first glimpse at the world of Reach, which is phenomenal. I think it’s going to be the biggest game of next year by far. Folks love ODST and thought it was great, but when people see the huge leap forward Bungie is taking with Reach, I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet, but everyone that I talked to that’s been on the team and seen it is incredibly excited about that time.”

Excited yet? Halo: Reach will hit stores Fall 2010.

  1. halo is 1 of my fav series .. though i played only 1&2 in pc
i still hope all other series will also come to pc 😥

  2. @pollob

I really doubt that. It’s been a long time since Halo 3 was released and there are still no word of being ported to the PC. Your only way is to play it on the 360 – and you should. 😛

  3. Halo: Reach gonna be the X3 Only Exclusive title for the 2010….it is essential for X3 indeed…hey….what are the other X3 only exclusives for 2010 Mushfiq?

I am yet to hear any official announcement of development of Gears of War Installment.

  4. @Reza

Not all 360 games are exclusive since they also release on the PC (if you look at it that way).

Xbox 360 exclusives in 2010 are: Tropico 3, Mass Effect 2, Prey 2, Fable 3, Crackdown 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Alan Wake …. and that’s about it. If I forgot something, I’ll update this list.

may be halo3,odst & reach will come to pc .. but after 5-6 yrs .. lol

  6. @pollob

Lol… by then we will have newer and better games. Still, one can hope. 😛

  7. So X3 gonna encounter PS 3 with those above mentioned titles against PS 3’s main titles Heavy Rain, G.O.W. 3, and GT 5. Do not know about La Noir’s release date though…..

    Hmmm…..

  8. @Reza

Undoubtedly Heavy Rain, God of War 3 and Gran Turismo 5 are big hitting titles. I must admit, PS3 edges a bit ahead of xbox 360 IMO.

But Mass Effect 2 alone makes up more than anything PS3 has to offer (except God of War 3) 😛

  9. now the question remains if any of the titles will live up to its hype…

  10. IMHO, there should be no question remaining atleast for GODS OF WAR 3….that’s for sure… 😉
