Microsoft At E3 2010: Natal Is Officially Renamed Kinect, Leaked Images Of Slim 360 And Prices
Microsoft has held a big E3 press event but unfortunately no journalists were allowed to have “electronic recording equipments”. Don’t let that stop the internet folks.
It’s official. Microsoft has rebranded Project Natal as Kinect kinect, Microsoft’s motion sensing gameplay device. USA Today has an in-depth article regarding Kinect as well as supported games including: Kinectimals (train animals), Joyride, Kinect Sports, Kinect Adventures, Dance Central, a Star Wars game and another featuring Disney characters. Well, where are all the hardcore games if you ask me.
An “inside source” has revealed to VG247 that Kinect will have two versions, the most expensive one priced around $190, although Microsoft is yet to officially reveal Kincet’s pricing and availability.
Can’t wait to get your eyes on the new heavily-rumored slim Xbox 360? You’re in luck. A leaked Italian ad features the slim 360 as well as Kinect which you can view below. The redesign looks really sweet:

Its great to know a new version of 360 and kinect gonna release.Kinect somewhat disappointed me cuz i thought it would support Gears of War 3 and it will change the landscape for games once again.But its looking like its just following nintendo wii’s approach to gaming.Anyway the gamepad is still the hardcore gamers tool for the moment.Hope Playstation Move doesnt do the same.Maybe the rrod free Xbox 360 gamers all have been waiting for is the remodelled xbox 360.I agree with the gaming wiz it does look exotic :mrgreen:.

I’m guessing a mod chip will most probably come out a few months after release of the slim. You don’t have to do it yourself, try any shops in BD which sells 360. They are all modded.

if ur interested to get ur xbox 360 slim 250gb from abroad its not a problem.First let the mod come out which i think will be available by this year.When its available visit renowned stores like Game Source.etc in bashundhara city and mod ur 360 for a hefty amount.

Rabbi is right. It’s better to let a professional shop do the modding rather than doing it yourself. But then again I doubt the quality of work done in BD shops, so you might do a better job yourself. 😀
Anyway, I bought my first mod chip for PS2 from http://www.mod-chip.com
Great store, low prices and international (FedEx) shipping. Get the mod chip from abroad and if it’s too difficult, take it to one of the shops in BD to get it modded.
Hmmmm ………… I’m wondering whether I should mod my 360….

Thanks. I’m not going to mod it myself. Just hoping the mod comes as quickly as possibly. But for the moment i’m in a state of confusion i can’t decide which one to get elite or the new slim one. My dead line to decide is somewhere at the end of July because that’s when my cousin will make from the USA. If your sure a mod will come out than i’m getting the slim one. :D.

Thanks. Your right it’s better to let them mod it for me. The website you recommended is nice and is also cheap but there are dozens of chips to choice more. I got my ps 2 slim modded from Rifles Square.
But modding 360 means no xbox live if ur caught.

Hmmm…. end of July? It’ll take a few months for a new mod chip to come out for the slim 360. And I’m not sure whether the existing chips will work with the slim. You can get a slim 360 and play original games on it till a mod chip is available. Or you can go for the elite with 250 gb HDD and have it modded. The only thing you’ll miss out on are some extra connection ports, built in wi-fi and the new design.

i prefer you to buy the xbox 360 slim rather than the elite 360 as the slim version has much more features and has better reliability than the existing elite models.You could bring the unit before and hold out till the mod is released and it shouldnt be more than several months from now unless microsoft put some game changing protection which i doubt so.Anyway whatever unit u decide to bring dont forget about rrod or the reliablity cuz that can the deciding factor at the moment.Anyway good luck and i hope that u go for the slim model :mrgreen:.

Your right i guess it better to hold on to slim xbox 360 until a mod chip is out. But Microsoft isn’t giving free games with this bundle. And about elite 250 gb i don’t really need 250 gb. 120 is about enough for me. I want the slim because most probably it will be less prone to problem and it won’t show any red ring this time . If there is a error they will show a right light at the power button according to some sources. And also for the build in WiFi and new designs.
But im dying to play GTA 4, Wheelman , Tiger woods 2011 so i really can’t wait for the mod chip to come out hope it comes real quick. In the meantime i guess need to buy an original copy of GTA 4 until a chip is out.

Bro, As you may have known, Xbox 360 Elite has been already discountinued by Microsoft. So, I’d strongly recommend you to get the slim one if its possible. And why would you get the discontinued model anyway, If you can get the new one? I think it’ll be wise to wait for the mod chip to come out, And by the time when its available you can get your desired xbox 360 Slim. 😛
Btw, I’m also planning to get the slim one when kinect gets out !

Thanks bro for the help. I thought Microsoft discontinued only arcade and pro. Which console do you own currently? And ya your right when kinect comes out you’ll get a better value for your money. But I can’t wait till November. Cause I’m a owner of ps2 slim which has bad games now. Remember the fat or the original ps2 which was discontinued by Sony. Same is gonna happen to the discontinued 360. So your right better to get the slim.

The scratch on the disc occurred because (in the video) he picked up the console while the disc was spinning in the drive. As far as I know, there is a warning sticker on every 360 console to not move the console with the disc in the drive. It isn’t just the slim 360 only, even the elite or even a PS3 will scratch a disc if it is moved while the disc is in the drive.

Thanks for the info. Damn when do you think a 199$ version will come ? Plus the kinect bundles will save you extra 50$.
I am fortunate enough to have a good internet connection it’s download speed is 100 kilo bytes per second. And with internet download manager its 200 kilo bytes per second. So currently mod chip is not a big issue for me as i can afford to download demos.
What do u think will be the feature of the new arcade xbox 360?

i think the $199 Xbox 360 will lack the hard drive and the wifi feature out of box.As xbox 360 is getting the Pen Drive support i think the storage for save games wont be a issue.But there should be some internal memory in that slim 360 just in case.

Bro, there is no way that you can do it “Legally” & there isn’t any official application released by Microsoft which will do the work. You’ll have to use some sort of 3rd party softwares to get it done, Which are obviously released by the hackers.

AFAIK, You can’t do that on an xbox 360.

You can use “Usb Xtaf Xplorer”, But I don’t know it properly works or not, I haven’t tried it yet.

Guys ps3 doesnt do scartch disc I use move my Ps3 When Im playing it doesnt do anything.BTW KINECT cost $150 alone if I were u I dont prefer it cause its for casual gaming not for hardcore games like Halo and Gears of Wars.
