Call Of Duty: Black Ops Sell An Estimated 7 Million Copies In 24 Hrs, Fastest Selling Game
VGChartz estimates that Call of Duty: Black Ops has sold 7 million copies in its first day alone.
If the estimate is correct, this makes Black Ops the fastest selling game of all time and 10% bigger than the launch of Modern Warfare 2.
Over 4 million users have now connected to Xbox Live to play Black Ops.
VGChartz estimates over 3.6 million units were sold in the USA, 1.4 million units in the UK, over a million units in continental Europe and 350,000 units in Canada. Xbox 360 takes the largest proportion of sales with 59%, 36% for PS3 and the remainder on PC, Wii and DS.
Previously, analysts expected Black Ops To Sell 20% Less Than Modern Warfare 2.
Wait for the official confirmation of world domination from Activision.

5% on pc ds and wii combined 😯 thats the devs are more lenient to produce games for consoles rather than pc 😈

Sadly yes. 😡 Still, PC gaming is strong in Europe and Asia. However, the overall market in USA/North America is stronger and hence developers pay more attention to consoles these days. 👿

Today I finally got it on the Xbox 360. Although I was looking for the PC version, but it didn’t come out in time and when it finally came out I had downloaded 70% of the xbox 360 version of the game. And I really didn’t want to download the PC Version over again. So I got if for the Xbox 360. Even though I was regretting but I felt kinda relieved when I read that the PC version suffers from some performance issues. 😀

So, how do you like it? As you might know, I really enjoy playing with a gamepad. Since my PC is connected to a TV, its really difficult to play with a mouse and keyboard anymore. I’ll say this about Black Ops – Treyarch has really outdone themselves!

Yeah, Me too! I also like to play with a gamepad but however my HDTV isn’t connected to my PC though. I find it kinda disturbing to sit so up close in front of the TV and control it from there.

I got the Xbox 360 version and was very surprised to see that the console version of the game doesn’t run on full HD. 😮 I couldn’t understand why the resolution is limited at 1040×600 and 960×544 with only 2X MSAA Even though both of the consoles are capable of running games at 1080p. 😕 👿
Right now, I’ve only played the first 15 minutes of the game and so far, the experience seems to be “great”! 😛 I’ll also say that Treyarch has finally outdone themselves and now they can actually compete with Infinity Ward! Now it’s time to see what Sledgehammer has to offer! 😈
