More Than 2.9 Million Call Of Duty : Black Ops Multiplayer Online, Logging 5.9 Million Hours On Xbox Live

At the first day of Call Of Duty : Black Ops launch , Treyarch’s community manager Josh tweeted that the game had over 1 million players online on Xbox Live.

Last night, Major Nelson made two separate tweets and according to them over 2.6 million different people logged in on day one on Xbox Live for Black Ops, and by the end of launch day, over 5.9 million multiplayer hours were logged.

Here are the tweets :

More than 2.6 million unique gamers played #CODBlackOPS in one day on November 9.

More than 5.9 million multiplayer hours were logged playing by the end of launch day, November 9.

The numbers are amazing stats and surprisingly only two days after launch it was announced to have beaten Modern Warfare 2 and became the world’s largest ever entertainment launch with $360 million in revenue in the UK and North America alone.

At its first day the game sold approximate 5.6 million copies in North America and United Kingdom in contrast to the 4.7 million copies ofΒ  Modern Warfare 2. At its first days Black Ops made a revenue of $650 million.
