New Resident Evil Game Being Created By SOCOM Team?

It seems Capcom is adopting the strategy to outsource development of its IPs to western developers, just like it did with Dead Rising 2 and Devil May Cry reboot.

Next on the list? Resident Evil as rumored by Kotaku.

Kotaku is reporting it has received a document that indicates that a new, team-based Resident Evil title is underway at Slant Six, the Vancouver-based studio behind SOCOM games U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation for the PS3 as wll as Tactical Strike and Fireteam Bravo 3 on PSP. Referred to in the document as Resident Evil: Raccoon City, the publisher’s representatives said “Capcom does not respond to rumors and/or speculation,” when contacted for comment.

New Resident Evil Being Developed By SOCOM Dev?

Slant Six Games writes on its official web site that it is currently in development on “an amazing new project” that is unannounced. That project is being developed in conjunction with a “new publishing partner on a world class franchise.” Several Slant Six current and former employees list an unannounced “multiplayer action game” for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on their LinkedIn profiles.
