Three More “Key Members” Heading To THQ Montreal From Ubisoft

As you may have known by now, Patrice Désilets, the ex-creative director of Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, who left Ubisoft for a “creative break from the industry” in last year’s June and later joined as the head of THQ’s new studio at Montreal in October, has requested three more “key members” from Ubisoft to join THQ Montreal.

Danny Bilson from THQ has told Joystiq that Désilets wants three of his former colleagues from Ubisoft in the newly formed THQ’s Montreal Studio.

Here’s what Patrice said, “I need these three guys.” And I said “Okay! Whatever you need!”.

He has confirmed that all the members are from Ubisoft, “I kind of know what their roles are, but they were the most important people to Patrice. All three of them are Ubi.”

He also wanted to reiterate that THQ Montreal is entirely in Désilets trusted hands, “I trust him … basically it’s all about trust and support”

When asked for more info on the new hires, Bilson didn’t name anyone specific, though he assured that the forthcoming hires will be from “all over the world” to fill its rosters, “not just Ubi, but people from the community in Montreal and all over the world.”

Désilets and the three new employees, who were not named, must serve out non-compete contracts before taking up their new roles at THQ’s most ambitious and largest studio yet.
