Rocksteady: Batman Arkham City Environment Is Five Times Bigger Than Arkham Asylum

Batman Arkham City developer Rocksteady Studios has said that the enviroment of Arkham City is almost five times bigger than the Arkham Asylum.

In an interview with Gamespot, Rocksteady developer Sefton Hill explained, “The footprint of Arkham City is about five times bigger than Arkham Island.”

He said that the players will be able to explore the world at any time, always having “a very clear idea” of where they are needed the most if they want to just stick to the core narrative path of the game, “Players will be able to go anywhere at any time, but we have made sure that players will always have a very clear idea of where they are needed most if they want to just stick to the core narrative path of the game.”

He added that there will be plenty of dark alleys and side streets littered with secrets to uncover.

Batman Arkham City is scheduled for a late 2011 release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
